Notes: Trever is very versatile, producing both highly sculptural work and interpretations of standard English shapes (as shown here). His Halloween pipes, offered every autumn, rival Walt Cannoy's work for extravagance, though in a very different style. They are usually inspired by fantasy or horror literature, especially Lovecraft.

Talbert's affordable line, called Ligne Bretagne, is based on factory stummels. These are hand-finished, but fitted with molded stems.

Comments: The equal of Larry Roush, I see Trever as the finest American carver of all. Both he and Larry have the potential to be classed in the very top tier of pipe makers worldwide.

Those unable or unwilling to afford an exclusive pipe should definitely consider a Ligne Bretagne - a fine way of sampling high-grade attention to detail at a (modest) mid-grade price.
