Notes: On the island of Sardinia, Tom Spanu makes a wide array of pipes - from inexpensive olive wood smokers and his famous 'cork pipes' to elaborate briar sculptures. His briars boast a peculiarity - he cuts the wood himself.

At one time, his grades were (in ascending order): SF, F1, F2, F3, FS. The FS tier appears to be obselete today (it was confusing, anway). Top pipes may now be stamped as 'Millennios'.

Comments: One of the most diverse and creative Italians, Spanu appears to be gaining more and more attention from collectors. His best pieces are almost artistic in shape and approach.
