Notes: Preben Holm, best known for his 'fancy' pipes, died in 1989. Prices on the estate market - and especially Ebay - are unpredictable. Holm was one of the first Danes to become popular in the USA.

Comments: In my opinion, few Preben Holms merit the prestige attributed to this brand in recent years - nor are Preben's pipes as rare as some would have us believe. One may assume that cheaper lines were partly machine-made. Personally, I would hesitate to classify the majority of Preben Holms as high-grade pipes - but some stunning pieces exist.
