Notes: Former is among Denmark's most respected carvers, making both hand-turned (see picture) and true freehand pieces. He also has an affordable line called 'Bentley', using a copy fraize for these pipes only. Finishing follows an identical, manual procedure in all three lines. Shapewise, the pipes stamped as hand-mades are more conservative than the freehands, but considered equally desirable.

Comments: In terms of execution, Former is one of the world's top carvers. His shape repertoire is somewhat limited, but his sense of proportion is perfect.

Bentleys are very, very close to the 'real thing' - an excellent choice for those unable or unwilling to pay the price for a hand-made Danish jewel.
